Here are some suggestions to help you ensure that your youth get as much out of the weekend as possible with few or no problems.

  • Remember that you are responsible for your group at all times. ICYC, Anderson University, the ICYC staff and ICYC’s program guests are not responsible for any injuries, losses or liabilities sustained by members of your group during the conference.

  • Bring your own liability/permission slips for each person in your group. These forms should include emergency numbers, allergy information, insurance information and permission for you to seek medical treatment for the youth in the case of an emergency.

  • We will be using a seating chart with space designated for each group. Please make sure your youth sit with your group for all main sessions. The bracelets that your group receive are your tickets into the auditorium for all activities. Please be sure all members of your group wear their bracelets for the entire weekend. We are not able to replace broken bracelets so please care for the ones you receive.

  • Emphasize to your group that they should get a drink, go to the restroom, etc. during breaks and that, except in the case of an emergency, no one is to be moving in the auditorium once the session has begun.

  • Remind your youth that even in a Christian setting, they need to be in groups while traveling around campus. Nobody should go off by him or herself.

  • In the hotels, remind your youth that their actions reflect on Christ. Many hotels dislike Christian youth conventions because they know they will have problems with excessive noise and other problems that disturb other guests. Have a great time, but be considerate of others.

  • Along those same lines, set a reasonable lights out time for your group. Many people enjoy staying up late, but being well rested will help you and your youth get as much as possible out of the main sessions and workshops.

  • Make photocopies of the campus map and bring enough for each of your youth and adults to have one. Our workshops will be in various buildings throughout campus, so everyone will need one in order to find their way around throughout the weekend

  • The Oasis will be provided once again for ADULT SPONSORS ONLY. Please do not remove food or drinks from this area. Please do not supply your youth with the food and drinks provided for adults. The purpose of the Oasis is to provide adult leaders and their young children a place to take a break, attend to families, network with other leaders and be refreshed. Please do not abuse this privilege.

  • We value your feedback. Please take time to complete the evaluation form included in your registration packet and drop it off at the Feedback Box in the Oasis.
